Happy Halloween

We had a busy weekend with a lot of Halloween festivities. A friends pre-wedding social, Mateo's first Halloween party and ended it off with carving pumpkins. Of course Mateo fell asleep before we started carving which wasn't a bad thing, considering I don't think he would have been much of a help. Even though I get these grand ideas that oh we'll all carve pumpkins. I guess that's all part of the learning curve, memories are made regardless if ridiculous expectations. Who other than me would think a 3 month old would join in on carving pumpkins lol. I also learned that cheap carving tools are not overrated, they are essential to a successful carve.

I realize Halloween hasn't even happened yet but I can't wait for Christmas. I have done more this Halloween then the past probably 5 put together. When we were in Winnipeg I took Mateo with friends to Boo at the Zoo, of course multiple Halloween candy trips, a few Halloween decoration purchases from Scattered Seeds craft show, his party today, carving pumpkins, and trick or treating and baby & me costume party are still to come. Holidays are much more exciting with kids. They give you a reason to celebrate. I should rephrase that because it's not like oh my life didn't have purpose before, but you get busy and have good intentions. Having Mateo, even though he likely won't remember these events, he gives me the motivation to do it, start traditions and make memories. So this is why I can't wait for Christmas. To me Christmas is about family, friends and food... what are you looking forward to? Or maybe dreading?

Davide is concentrating hard, clearly making this a competition.

Mateo gets to take credit for the finished products because he's cute!

Zombie bridesmaids, can I just say how lucky we were to all find $40 dresses in the clearance section of David's Bridal.

Mateo had good time at the party, so good he crashed in about 5 secs once in the Durango.

Hey guys, I am awake and ready to carve pumpkins!
