Just that much closer..

Things I have learned this past week:
- Things won't always go as planned
- It's okay if things don't always go as planned
- I have high expectations
- I don't have to lower my expectations, I just have to alter them
- Fractions are hard... even for a 24 yr.old
- Kids will amaze you
- Teachers need sleep
- I live in chaos but manage to be well prepared and organized
- I should not agree to go shoeless/sockless for Earth Day
It's not that I didn't know a lot of these things. I just have a different perspective on some of these things.
I finished my classes 2 weeks ago and now have been doing practicum. I have a great co op teacher and I adore the students. I am actually teaching this time. Not only am I teaching I am planning 2 entire units. My co op teacher is giving me free reign. Which is good but scary. I am not use to actuallying being a teacher... I just play teacher...
Spring is finally here... and I am slowly leaving my Twilight obsession.. thankfully! I can't believe a series can consume me so much!
I am hoping to have a bbq/bonfire this weekend. I haven't planned a party in awhile. I love getting lots of food ready for people. The fact that it will be outside and around a bonfire just makes me that much happier.
That's about it... nothing really exciting... again just exhausting... which I completely take ownership for. Just as I say that I am thinking about the next conference I am going to and how I need to do a new presentation in less than 2 weeks.
I can't even feel sorry for myself rereading what I just wrote. I sound like one of those people who do things just to keep busy so they can maintain their constant complaining about being busy. I refuse to be that person.
I am actually (seriously I am) really excited about the next conference. It's a conference to encourage more Aboriginal students to choose math/science career paths. We're presenting on a school/community garden and how it allows for cultural/natural/science/math/
interactive/hands on learning. We're actually planning a garden as part of our mini university program this summer. So this is a chance to encourage other students to jump on the green wagon.
