So last weekend we went to Yorkton to check out houses. I guess I had high expectations so when we got there and loved the houses but not the prices I was sadly disappointed. Our trip home was not too pleasant either. I had stepped in shit and it melted! Funny how that's how I felt too after pricing out the houses I fell in love with.
Anyway we just got back from Winnipeg and things are looking up. We found another house that is about $40, 000 cheaper. Plus Davide talked to a contractor before we left and priced out the basement and mechanical. So the trip home was better this time!
We still have a ton of work ahead of us and many more decisions. Right now we're looking for the right piece of land. It's tough when there isn't much of a selection. But I am going to have to be more proactive. As much as I hate to do it I am going to have to call some people and inquire if they are selling or would consider selling some land.
Also I think we're scrapping geothermal. It's soooo expensive and I know in the long run you save but we just don't have the money to begin with. We don't want to spend over $250,000.00 all together, geothermal would put us way over that $26,000.00 over. We're trying for around $220,000-230,000 but I know it might cost more.
All in all building/bringing an RTM up is SOOO much work. If Davide and I still are married by the end that will be impressive, lol!
