Lammas - The First Harvest

I'm My sister has been inspired by Rudolf Steiner through Waldorf education. She is a doer as I like to put it. I admire that. She wants to raise her child(ren) with ample opportunities to learn to connect with and respect the natural world. So she hosts seasonal celebration for her mama community.

We made a point of coming down to celebrate too. On the agenda was jam making and doll making.

We made delicious sugar free jam. Rather than pectin we used chia seeds and honey. It is a refrigerator or freezer jam so it doesn't last long.

I was pleasantly surprised by the consistency and taste. This is definitely going to be added to my jam making rotation.

The best part was the kids actually did the majority of the work.

The mom's made corn husk dolls. Our kids are a little young yet.

I really appreciate Waldorf education. I huge part of me wishes I was independently wealthy and could stay home and raise and teach my own children. I don't see it happening. But who knows what the future holds.
