87% , 89% & 95%

So far those are my applied math marks; 2 reviews and 1 test. It's hard to believe considering my lack of ability in the logic field. Then again they have been take home and I have been taking full advantage of my resources. I actively arrange group meetings and attend tutor sessions. I don't know why I haven't clued into this method of learning before. I guess it's never too late. I am a little nervous for our mid term which will be in class but if I study I may do alright.

As for all the rest I really like it. Today we had to "reconnect to the land" for Aboriginal Perspectives in Teaching. My lesson was carving pumpkins. At first I think people thought I just came up with a fun activity in lieu of Halloween. Which of course had an influence. But I also connected pumpkins to science (growing the pumpkins then composting), environmental studies (growing locally, composting), L.A (storytelling), history (origins of pumpkins), math (recipes, how far does pumpkins in the store travel compared to pumpkins from my garden), health ( recipes, saving the seeds which are full of nutrients) and art (creatively expressing themselves through carving). We spent our entire class outside and everyone came up with different activities; ultimate Frisbee, scavenger hunts, track tracking, building a fire, and planting bulbs.

I finally feel comfortable in a university setting. I can easily connect to my professors or stop the Dean in the hallway. One of my professors even gave me a piece for my Jetta. That just doesn't happen in larger university settings.

Oh and I can't believe that I'm starting practicum in a month. Time flies!

Speaking of time flying I need a Halloween costume before Halloween is here! I wanted to be Eagle vs. Shark but no one here appreciates the humor, or even knows what I am talking about. I would pull out my trusty ladybug wings but Davide threw them out. So now I have to think of something and quick!
