Things I Love About Teaching

Potential in all of my students. I love hearing and reading about their plans for their future and how being in school is just one step in their bright futures!

Making them think. Unfortunately my students haven't always been treated like intellects let alone equals. I teach students that didn't make it in regular classes for one reason or other. I see them as individuals full of great ideas and stories to tell.

Being real. I love just saying it as it is and them in return. I don't sugar coat the truth and that makes my classroom real. I appreciate the opportunities to be real with my students and for them to trust me enough to treat me the same way.

Making my classroom my own. Take away the babycrib and add a couple bookshelves full of donated books and walah I have a growing library for my students to enjoy.

Nifty school shit. I love buying nonsense. Even more I love buying nonsense that really isnt nonsense at all. Hence my lovely weekly buckets that are color coated to my in/outboxes and homework pick up buckets.

Organization. Yes me, I love organizing my stuff. Don't get me wrong, I still live a very disorganized schoo life, but I love the illusion that I am organized.
