The More, The Merrier....

So my dad is heading out to Dauphin to pick up my Grandma; she's moving in with us. My parents were informed last week that she no longer can stay at the hospital, however she requires 24hr care so she can't go home. Hence moving in with us! I am happy with the decision.

After working as a support worker for 5 years I have a somewhat biased view towards care homes. I think far too often they hire incompetent, uncaring employees. I know not all support workers, health care aids, home care workers, nurses, etc... are this way. But too many are. We need a huge overhaul of our nursing homes and care homes. Unfortunately many people are underpaid and overworked causing them to dislike their jobs and treat the people they are caring for as part of their job rather then people. Or it's as simple as them not being qualified for the job and only being hired because the lack of applicants. At least this is the case in my own experience.

It will definitely be a full house here but they may not be a bad thing considering the type care my grandma will need. Of course we won`t all be busy all the time but they`ll be enough of us to share the load.

I suddenly realized how busy I am going to be for the next month. I am preparing for WestCast, busy with normal schoolwork, preparing for the Valentines Tea.... on top of that my Grandma will be here and my Dad is going for his hip surgery. So all the normal things like walking the dogs, getting wood, laundry, making supper, grocery shopping will have to be done. If I make it through the next month I am amazing..... okay maybe not amazing but close!

So rather then sitting here blogging I should get some work done!
