I may be crazy...

I am counting down the minutes until I am done for the day, only to rush home to pack for a fun weekend of camping with 7 & 8 year olds. Yes, I am 8 months pregnant and sleeping in a cabin with no running water for 2 nights. That means I will be getting out of my incredibly comfortable (yeah right) bunk bed only to tip toe into the forest to use the lovely outhouse, probably 4 times a night.

Why am I doing this? Well for one, I feel pretty good so I think I can. But also because camping is like a right of passage for these girls. I remember as a young Brownie being so excited to spend the weekend away at a camp that I KNEW I would be doing all these great crafts, campfire and activities at.

I wouldn't say that I am the "outdoorsy" type. I am quite comfortable admitting that I prefer a bed to a hard ground and hot showers to face clothes soaked in  murky pump water. However, some of my favorite childhood memories were from Girl Guide camps or even Bible camp. Even if they were memories of planes (that I was suppose to be one) crashing or tornadoes coming, or crying in a field because I hadn't yet accepted Jesus into my heart and I was for sure going to HELL. Ah, yes the memories.

So why this is why I am going camping this weekend, to provide 15 young girls an experience they won't forget, let's just hope it's not them seeing me deliver a baby a month early!
