Happy Canada Day

Yummy Oreo Cheesecake

We went to an annual Canada Day party last night. I am pretty notorious for bringing the same thing to parties. I stick to what I know. Sometimes I go out on a limb but rarely. I brought a couple taco dips, simply because everyone loves taco dip, especially me. Hence why I brought 2, one for the party and one for me. And yes I did sit one right next to me, alittle embarrassing.

But a did try something new. There is no recipe, just knowing what tastes good together. I made the easiest but yummiest no bake oreo cheesecake.

All you need is some oreo crumbs and butter. Melt enough butter that the bottom with stick together. Don't forget to grease up your pan, nothing worse then a flimsy falling apart dessert. Well in my opinion presentation matters. Ok back to made up recipe. So presse the oreo crumb mixture into the bottom of a pan.

Mix 2 bars of cream cheese with 1 c of oreo pieces and tub of frozen cool whip. I use my kitchen aid mix and make sure it's actually smooth, not all chunky with cream cheese.

Then whip up some whip cream, spread it thinly and add some strawberries or any fruit you like. Super duper easy and extremely yummy! Oh and put it in the fridge for a couple hours to let it sit.

Sounds like what I made for Canada day - I made it in cups but could easily be made in a pan I think http://www.mybakingaddiction.com/no-bake-cheesecake-recipe/

The taco dip comment made me laugh. Remember when mom and dad use to lecture us about sitting beside the food at parties?! Guess you showed them!
